British cuisine fans, we’ve got news that may sadden you. The Ivy, a Dubai institution via way of Dubai, is closing on New Year’s Eve! (Well, we’re hoping that a re-opening announcement will follow.) It seems Emirates towers is shaking up its food and beverage offering, having just killed off one of my favourite Dubai venues, the karaoke dive bar that was Harry Ghatto’s. Sad times. BUT – it’s not closed yet, and they’ve got some fantastic festive offerings for those who aren’t yet ready to let go of The Ivy.
On top of their Christmas menu, they’re offering a three-course classic menu for 200dhs on Sundays and Mondays. Brunch lovers, never fear – we road-tested their brunch last week and you’d be crazy to miss it, with swinging live music it’s a good time for all ages. Take in the entertainment and choose from ‘taste’ – soft beverages at 299, ‘treat’ – house beverages at 499 or ‘feast’ – endless bubbly and fine wine at 599. Add Moët & Chandon Brut for an additional AED100. That’s certainly the way to a happy holiday season.
